Project Overview

The King Street Center sees 120-150 faces moving through it on any given day, providing services for the more than 500 children and families in the area. Nearly doubling in size, the new 21,400 sf facility at 87 King Street now offers plenty of space for year-round childcare, preschool, after-school activities, clubs and summer activities, as well as post-high school employment development.

A year in the making, the building underwent a complete renovation with an addition, allowing for additional classrooms, tutoring spaces, the King Street Playhouse, an art studio, a rooftop play space, revived gymnasium, and a new state-of-the-art kitchen. An abundance of natural light flows throughout the modern building and the roof is equipped with solar panels for added efficiency.
