Project Overview

Alice Peck Day Memorial Hospital invested in the renovation and modernization of a former birthing center area in the East Wing of the Hospital, into a new Surgical Short Stay Unit. The transformed area consists of 10 private recovery rooms with bathrooms, and associated staff support areas. Upgrades were made to existing HVAC, electrical and fire protection systems.

The goal of the renovated 4,600 sf unit is to provide a high quality patient, caregiver, and staff experience, focused on the unique needs of select surgical orthopaedic patients undergoing total joint replacements and select neurospine surgery patients, of whom require less than twenty-four hours of on site care.
