An official groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of Kendal at Hanover’s new Health Center Renovation and Addition project. Residents, Board members, staff and guests were in attendance for the event. The Health Center will improve the way KAH staff provides care and meets the needs for its elderly residents. The project consists of the construction of a new two-story Health Center addition (approx. 10,600 sf), a new two-story Sunroom/Dining Room expansion (approx. 1,700 sf) plus a separate one-story Health Center addition (1,700 sf). In addition to the new construction, the existing adjacent buildings (approx. 80,000 sf) will receive varying degrees of renovations, most of which are extensive.
These additions will create new skilled care rooms, additional private rooms, and new shared entryways. Better lighting and new heating and ventilation systems will make for a homier and less institutional feel in common areas, apartments, dining areas, corridors and bathrooms.
The project began in June 2018 and will be accomplished in multiple phases with completion set for July 2021.
