Engelberth Construction is currently underway with renovations and an addition to the Hanover Inn at Dartmouth College. The CM project consists of a complete rejuvenation of the historic Inn. The upper floors of the adjoining Lang building on Hanover’s Main Street will be converted from office space into 14 guest rooms adding to the Inn’s current 93 rooms. A 12,000 sf addition between the Inn and the Hopkins Center will centralize the hotel’s meeting space and will include two larger banquet/function rooms on the ground floor with seven conference spaces on the lower level of the addition. The Inn’s restaurants will also be relocated with the new restaurant being moved to the corner of Main and Wheelock Streets.
Designed by Cambridge Seven Associates of Cambridge, MA, work commenced at the end of September and the multi-phased project is scheduled for reopening in spring 2012 with final completion of all work in fall 2012. The veteran duo – ECI Project Manager Dick Terk, and ECI Superintendent Mike Pierce are leading the team. They have worked on numerous Dartmouth College facility projects, most recently the transformation of Thayer Hall into the Class of 1953 Dining Commons.
