Engelberth Construction, Inc. of Keene, New Hampshire recently completed a new state-of-the-art nursing simulation and skills lab for Keene State College’s newly accredited nursing program. Featuring the latest in nursing education technology, a former computer lab in Rhodes Hall was converted into two areas: The Simulation Lab consists of two intensive care hospital rooms with a shared control room. The Nursing Fundamentals Lab is a large, open space which includes five hospital beds equipped to mimic a general hospital, complete with high-tech mannequins, a nurse’s station, general exam area, classroom area and an office. A debriefing room and storage area round out the training facility, designed by Lavallee Brensinger Architects. The renovation began in mid-August and was completed in time for the new nursing class’ arrival in January. Rhodes Hall remained occupied throughout construction.Engelberth Construction has completed several projects for Keene State College over the last 15 years including most recently, the Technology, Design and Safety Center which earned LEED Platinum certification by the US Green Building Council.
